YOUR COLLECTION CHECKLIST
Prepare your Durham pickup.
Select where your car is parked to see the details to arrange before collection. This checklist stays in your browser.
Plan access from the driveway or garage.
Describe gates, low entrances and anything blocking the car. Tell the partner if wheels are missing or the steering is locked. Agree the loading position before moving the vehicle.
Arrange access with the property manager.
Give the bay number, entrance instructions and any loading restrictions. Confirm who can let the driver in. Permission to enter the property and authority to sell the vehicle are separate details.
Confirm release with the facility.
Ask who authorizes release and whether any existing bill or hold needs resolving. Agree the collection window with the facility and buyer. Free purchase towing does not settle earlier repair or storage charges.
Identify the exact parked position.
Give the street address or nearest cross-street and describe whether the car moves. If there is a notice, keep its reference and use the local resource below for the issuing office’s instructions.
For every pickup: prepare the ownership documents, confirm the purchasing party and agreed amount, remove personal belongings, and keep the handover record.

LOCAL NOTICES AND DOCUMENT HELP
Keep Durham’s vehicle tag with your collection records.
Use this public resource if a local notice, property issue or document question affects your sale. For a vehicle you own and can release, arrange the purchase and collection directly through the enquiry form.
Durham distinguishes a property Notice of Violation from an Abandoned, Junked or Hazardous Vehicle Tag. Its enforcement process describes a lime-green tag for vehicle violations. If your car has one, photograph it and contact the assigned Code Enforcement officer about the requested correction before agreeing collection. Tell the buyer about the tag and exact parked position. Keep the handover record for follow-up; a tagged vehicle still needs the appropriate ownership documents for a sale.
