Separate a private-property removal from a police vehicle hold.
Ithaca Police’s towing procedure distinguishes private-property requests, abandoned vehicles and vehicles held as evidence or under other authority. It assigns ordinary private-property towing arrangements to the property owner or representative, with exceptions for police matters. A property owner’s removal request does not by itself transfer vehicle ownership. Identify whether you are selling your own car or seeking removal of someone else’s before arranging service.

Give the bay number, entrance instructions and any loading restrictions. Confirm who can let the driver in. Permission to enter the property and authority to sell the vehicle are separate details.
Confirm release with the facility.
Ask who authorizes release and whether any existing bill or hold needs resolving. Agree the collection window with the facility and buyer. Free purchase towing does not settle earlier repair or storage charges.
Identify the exact parked position.
Give the street address or nearest cross-street and describe whether the car moves. If there is a notice, keep its reference and use the local resource above for the issuing office’s instructions.
For every pickup: prepare the ownership documents, confirm the purchasing party and agreed amount, remove personal belongings, and keep the handover record.
