Check the recorded owner
Match the ownership document to the vehicle and identify every person whose signature is required. Explain any missing title, estate involvement or outstanding loan before scheduling collection.
Complete the assignment
Enter the buyer’s details and complete the required assignment rather than handing over a title signed in blank. Check the VIN, sale date and mileage entry before signing.
Keep your own copies
Save the completed title assignment and bill of sale with the agreed amount, purchasing business details and collection record. Keep these available if a later enquiry concerns the vehicle.
Finish the registration step
Georgia requires the seller to cancel registration as well as transfer ownership. Use the separate cancellation guide and arrange the insurance change in the correct order.
