A parking report is separate from a car sale
San Diego’s Get It Done service includes a 72-hour vehicle-violation reporting category. The city routes these reports to its Abandoned Vehicle Abatement team for evaluation. If your vehicle has received a notice, follow the instructions on that notice and establish access before scheduling collection. Reporting a vehicle does not transfer its ownership or authorize someone else to sell it.
YOUR COLLECTION CHECKLIST
Prepare your San Diego pickup.

Plan access from the driveway or garage.
Describe gates, low entrances and anything blocking the car. Tell the partner if wheels are missing or the steering is locked. Agree the loading position before moving the vehicle.
Arrange access with the property manager.
Give the bay number, entrance instructions and any loading restrictions. Confirm who can let the driver in. Permission to enter the property and authority to sell the vehicle are separate details.
Confirm release with the facility.
Ask who authorizes release and whether any existing bill or hold needs resolving. Agree the collection window with the facility and buyer. Free purchase towing does not settle earlier repair or storage charges.
Identify the exact parked position.
Give the street address or nearest cross-street and describe whether the car moves. If there is a notice, keep its reference and use the local resource above for the issuing office’s instructions.
For every pickup: prepare the ownership documents, confirm the purchasing party and agreed amount, remove personal belongings, and keep the handover record.
