Oceanside Police separates its vehicle-release process from the tow company’s storage and towing charges. The steps depend on why the car was impounded, so obtain the applicable release instructions before arranging a sale pickup. Our free towing covers collection for the purchase; it does not erase charges already owed to an impound operator. Keep the release document with your title and transaction records.

Plan access from the driveway or garage.
Describe gates, low entrances and anything blocking the car. Tell the partner if wheels are missing or the steering is locked. Agree the loading position before moving the vehicle.

Give the bay number, entrance instructions and any loading restrictions. Confirm who can let the driver in. Permission to enter the property and authority to sell the vehicle are separate details.

For every pickup: prepare the ownership documents, confirm the purchasing party and agreed amount, remove personal belongings, and keep the handover record.
