Find a towed vehicle using its plate number
Elk Grove Police explains that its dispatch service can use a vehicle’s license plate number to check whether it has been towed or impounded. Its guidance distinguishes an ordinary stored-vehicle release from a vehicle held as evidence. Establish the location and release status before agreeing to sale collection, and keep any police release form with the ownership documents.
